A Journey of Faith & Growth

From a humble beginning to a vibrant community

Where It All Began

New Faith Church traces its origins to Rev. David and Ilene Glunt, who had a passion for ministry and church planting. After moving from Pennsylvania to Ohio in the early 1970s, they started a summer children’s program in Lockville, which revealed the need for a local church.

This led to the formation of Faith Assembly of God in late 1974, meeting above Conrad’s Market in downtown Canal Winchester, now the site of Harvest Moon Coffee Shop.

These humble beginnings laid the foundation for a church that would become a beacon of hope and faith in the community

Faith in Action

As Faith Assembly grew, so did its vision. In 1984, under Rev. Ernest Doling’s leadership, the church took a bold step of faith, purchasing land on Waterloo Street and overcoming challenges to build a new home for its growing family. This milestone ignited a season of incredible growth, with Pastor Doling nurturing families, empowering youth, and securing financial stability before stepping down in 1997.

Pastor Richard Vance expanded the church’s heart for outreach until 2002, followed by Pastor Tom Vollmer, who led with a passion for global missions until 2006. Through every season, Faith Assembly has remained a beacon of hope, faithfully building lives, strengthening community, and sharing God’s love with the world.

A New Home for a Growing Church

In 2006, Pastor Ray Richards brought stability and renewed vision, strengthening missions, prayer, and outreach. In 2016, the congregation took a bold step, selling the Waterloo Street property to build a new church on Thrush Drive. While awaiting construction, they worshiped faithfully at Wagnalls Memorial Library until moving into their new home in early 2019.

Pastor Rich Vinson became lead pastor in May, continuing the church’s legacy of faith and community. Through unwavering trust in God and a spirit of generosity, New Faith Church continues to grow, serve, and share His love. As our story unfolds, we remain committed to God’s calling, embracing new opportunities, and stepping forward in faith to impact generations to come.
