Have you ever wondered why you were created? What is your true purpose in life? In a world that constantly pulls us in different directions, it’s easy to drift through our days without a clear sense of calling. But as believers, we are not meant to simply exist—we are called to live with intentionality and purpose.
What Does It Mean to Have a God-Given Purpose?
Many people define purpose by their career, achievements, or relationships. But as followers of Christ, our primary purpose is far greater. Isaiah 43:7 reminds us that we were created for one reason: to glorify God. This means that before we can effectively serve Him outwardly, we must first allow Him to transform us inwardly.
Pause and Reflect: Are you glorifying God in your daily life? What areas of your heart still need to be surrendered to Him?
How Do We Discover Our Purpose?
Just as David was anointed long before he became king, God reveals our purpose in His perfect timing. But before we can step into our calling, we must allow the Holy Spirit to shape our hearts. Think of it as an implosion before an explosion—God works in us before He works through us.
Ask Yourself: Are you allowing God to do the deep, internal work necessary before stepping into your greater purpose?
What Does It Truly Mean to Be Pentecostal?
Being Pentecostal is about more than spiritual gifts—it’s about empowerment. Acts 1:8 teaches us that the Holy Spirit gives us power to be witnesses for Christ “to the ends of the earth.” Our spiritual gifts and experiences should always point back to the mission of sharing Jesus with others.
Consider This: Are you using the power of the Holy Spirit to build God’s Kingdom, or are you focusing only on personal spiritual experiences?
Why Does Biblical Literacy Matter?
In a time when biblical illiteracy is at an all-time high, we must be intentional about knowing God’s Word. Our faith is not built on tradition or denominational labels—it is built on the truth of Scripture. If we are to be effective witnesses, we must first be well-grounded in God’s Word.
Reflect: When was the last time you dug deep into Scripture, not just to read, but to understand and apply it?
Life Application: Living with Purpose This Week
If you’re ready to step into your God-given purpose, start by taking these three practical steps:
Live with intentionality. Before you speak or act, ask yourself, “Am I glorifying God in this moment?”
Be an empowered witness. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in sharing the Gospel boldly and with love.
Tell your story. Sharing your testimony not only strengthens your faith but encourages others in theirs.
Thought-Provoking Questions for Reflection:
How am I actively glorifying God in my daily life?
When was the last time I shared my faith story with someone?
Am I allowing the Holy Spirit to work in my heart before serving outwardly?
Do I identify more with a denomination or as a follower of Christ?
The heart of a warrior is one that is fully surrendered to God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and bold in sharing the love of Christ. Your purpose is not just about you—it’s about making Jesus known to the world. Will you step into that calling today?
