How to Build a Miracle Altar: Unlocking God’s Power Through Obedient Prayer

Are miracles just for Bible times? Or are they for today, too?
At New Faith Church, we believe God is still in the miracle-working business. But sometimes, we miss what God wants to do because we don’t make room for the miraculous. In this Pentecost Sunday sermon, Pastor Rich Vinson urges us to build a “miracle altar”—a place of spiritual surrender where heaven meets earth.
If you’re hungry to see God move in your life, this message is for you.

🕊️ What Is a Miracle Altar?
A miracle altar is not made of stone or wood—it’s built with faith and obedience. As Pastor Rich explained, “The altar is a place we go to die so God can come alive.” Miracles begin when we stop trusting ourselves and start trusting God’s power.
“Whoever controls the altar controls the outcome.”
When we surrender to God’s design and submit to His spiritual authority, we open the door to His divine power.
🔥 Faith Over Cultural Norms
Paul didn’t win over the Corinthians with fancy words—he showed up with a demonstration of God’s power. In a culture obsessed with knowledge and self-sufficiency, Paul made room for the miraculous.
“To experience the miraculous is to submit not to cultural norms, but to the will of God.”
Our modern world teaches self-reliance. But God calls us to rely on Him. Miracles happen when we follow God’s instructions—even when they don’t make logical sense.
🙏 Obedience Is the Key to Breakthrough
Pastor Rich challenged us to ask: What are you depending on?
If our trust is in money, education, or comfort, we may be shutting God out. Obedience creates the conditions for God’s power to work. As Pastor Rich reminded us, “It is not failure if healing doesn’t happen instantly. It’s about obedience, not outcome.”
🛠️ Building the Miracle Altar in Your Life
Here’s how to start building your own miracle altar:
Pray with expectation
Lay hands on the sick (James 5:14–15)
Anoint with oil
Share testimonies of God’s power
Submit to spiritual authority
“Miracles are rare because we don’t make room for them.”
Make room today.
🚀 Your Next Step: Go Get Your Miracle
This week, take a bold step of faith. Whether it’s praying out loud, asking someone to pray for you, or sharing your testimony, make space for God to move. And as Pastor Rich said, “Come with expectation—but trust God for the miracles.”
