Every few years, the call for change echoes in our world. We look to new leaders, new solutions, and new resolutions, hoping for something better. But lasting change doesn’t start with elections, policies, or circumstances. It begins in the heart.

At New Faith Church, we’re starting a new series called "Keep the Change" to explore how Jesus Christ brings real transformation. This isn’t about surface-level fixes—it’s about a life-changing shift that impacts everything from our thoughts to our actions. Let’s dive into what it means to experience true, lasting change in Christ.
The Heart of the Problem

We often think external solutions will solve internal issues. We tweak our routines, follow self-help advice, or even put our hope in societal change. But as the Bible teaches, the real problem lies within: our hearts.
Sin Separates Us
The Apostle Paul reminds us in Romans 3:23:
“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Sin is more than just bad behavior; it’s a condition we’re born into, one that separates us from God. Left unchecked, it shapes how we think, feel, and act. Only Christ can address the heart’s deepest needs.
True Change Starts with Jesus
In 2 Corinthians 3:17-18, Paul explains where true freedom and transformation come from:
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.”
Transformation begins when we turn to Jesus, surrendering control and allowing His Spirit to work within us. This change isn’t about modifying behavior but reshaping who we are at our core.
Transformation Is a Lifelong Process
Think of the journey of a butterfly. It begins as a caterpillar, enters a chrysalis, and emerges as something entirely new. Similarly, when we surrender to Christ, we begin a process of ongoing transformation—a journey that continues until we see Him face-to-face.
Daily Growth in Christ
Paul describes this process as "ever-increasing glory." It’s not a one-and-done event but a daily practice of growing in God’s Word, praying, and listening to the Holy Spirit. Transformation requires intentionality. Are you making time each day to pursue Christ, or are you relying on a quick Sunday sermon to sustain your faith?
What Are You Reflecting?
Our lives reflect what’s in our hearts. At work, school, or home, people notice how we handle challenges, frustrations, and opportunities. Are you reflecting the glory of Christ or blending in with the world?
A Living Testimony
Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 3:3:
“You show that you are a letter from Christ... written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts.”
Your life is a letter from Christ to the world. What message are you sending?
Why It Matters
The world is desperate for hope. Hearts transformed by Jesus can reflect His love, peace, and joy to a broken world. Whether you’re celebrating a victory or walking through disappointment, how you respond reveals where your heart is anchored.
Challenge Yourself
Are you ready to embrace true transformation? Take time this week to reflect on these questions:
Who is ruling my heart right now?
How am I reflecting Christ in my daily life?
What steps can I take to grow closer to Jesus?
Real change requires surrender. It starts with allowing Christ to work in your heart and continues as you grow in your relationship with Him.
